From a musical family, I began playing the piano by "ear" as soon as I could climb onto the bench, and started lessons early -- piano, dance, church and school choirs, etc. How fortunate I feel to have the gift of music, which has been nurtured and honed all of my life, and am blessed to be able to "pass it on" to so many people: children and adults. I have performed in nearly every type of musical venue including for presidents and foreign dignitaries. I was head of the music program at a community college, directed and founded children's (and other) choirs, and prepared groups of Orlando Deanery Boychoir and Girls' Choir for 14 years in Orlando. It is my challenge and privilege to help EACH STUDENT reach individual goals: enrichment, enjoyment, serious study, auditions, theatre roles, music reading/theory, technique and certainly, musical expression! Each lesson is a little "miracle" of its own as we polish a work or dig into something new. I LOVE TEACHING, am thorough, creative, well-founded and patient. You will leave the lesson feeling happy; it will be time well-spent!

My Certifications and Awards
I won various awards and music competitions, and was a scholarship student for academics and being a piano accompanist. Accompanying (a LOT!) and being a good sight-reader have served me well in school and as a professional.
I have made recordings with various singing groups and projects.
My Musical Influences
I was influenced musically in early days by my church and family (especially my father who played banjo, guitar, harmonica, clarinet, etc. and his mother who played the piano with great expression). My piano teacher from age 5 - 18 was from the "old school" and steeped me in fundamentals, but coaxed me to "find the music and meaning".
Artists: Vladimir Horowitz, Yoyo Ma, Placido Domingo, Judy Collins, Paul Simon, Bill Evans, Delbert McClinton, Oscar Peterson, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme', Wes Montgomery, Vic Damone, the Canadian Brass, et. al.
Composers: the Germans, the Russians, the British, the Americans, the French, the Italians -- what more can I say?
Every time we enter music, no matter our level, it is "sacred ground", and we do our best at that moment...
