About Me

Nicole is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.A. in Music with a Theater Minor. She began singing at the age of 7 and began classical vocal training at the age of 13 at the Atlantic Music Academy with Cherie Carl. At the Atlantic Music Academy she participated in the Atlantic Music Faire where she won multiple medals and awards and was invited to the Honors Recital multiple times. She has performed in numerous shows, concerts and recitals. She has been involved with choir since she was in the fourth grade, some of which include Honors Choir, Jackson Civic Choir, New Jersey All State Women's Chorus, and the Rutgers University Kirkpatrick Choir, which she served as the president for the 2012-2013 season. Nicole began singing opera at the age of 16. She was a soloist in the New Jersey All State Opera Festival in 2009, singing Black Swan from the Medium. She has appeared in the ensemble of Flora, The Magic Flute, Mrs. Coaxer in The Beggar's Opera, and most recently one of the six spirits in Cendrillon at Mason Gross School of The Arts. In the process of receiving her bachelors degree in music she has also been expanding her education in the arts of ballet and acting. Nicole is a cantor at the St. Aloysius church in Jackson, NJ and is available to sing Weddings, Funerals, and Baptisms. Nicole now owns a private music studio in Howell, NJ where she teaches piano and vocal lessons to students of all ages.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Piano: I believe it is important for students to learn proper piano techniques such as reading music, warming up, fingering skills, and technique secrets. Learning how to play the piano is a gateway to learning how to play any other musical instrument and it is a skill that can be taken with you throughout your life! All lessons are individualized for the specific student's piano playing goals and needs and can be structured on a weekly basis. Voice: I believe it is important for students to learn proper singing techniques such as breath control, warming up, vocal health, and diction. Students will also learn how to treat the singing voice as an instrument by learning skills such as sight reading & rhythm. Preschoolers will learn math and music through fun games and musical activities!
