About Me
I graduated from St. Edmunds High School in Eunice, La. and attended St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, La. for two years in French Education. I married and have two children, and returned to college to earn a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Southwestern, La.
In my daily life family is a priority. In my teaching profession I am committed and conscientious. My leisure time is spent enjoying activities such as the art walk and attending operas. Exercise includes swimming and walking, and I consider it important to maintain a healthy diet.
My Musical Education Background
I received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
Genres and Subjects Taught
I am teaching private piano lessons at my studio in Lafayette, La., teach piano at Sts. Leo-Seton School in Lafayette, teach the Adult Beginner Piano Course at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and have taught piano at the Acadiana Conservatory of Music in Lafayette.
I have taught Social Studies and Science at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Chalmette, La., taught fifth grade at Our Lady of Lourdes School in New Orleans, La., and have tutored in French.
Lesson Rates
My rates include a monthly fee of $110 for a half-hour lesson once a week, $162 for a 45-minute lesson, and $207 for an hour lesson. Most beginners take the half hour lesson, and often succed with this as they advance. There is a $65 registration fee.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I have taught students ranging in age from four to 80. An evaluation is given to students who are four years old to see if they are ready for lessons.
My Certifications and Awards
I am a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers.
My Musical Influences
Sister Leonard of the Order of Marionite Sisters taught me accuracy in my playing and gave me motivation through enrollment in festivals and guilds. Mr. Davis, my college professor, gave me the example of patience with my students and the importance of attention to detail. Mrs. Trible, also a college professor, gave me knowledge of the periods of music history and repertoire for these that I use in my teaching.
