About Me
Shelly is a professional pianist and teacher who has been teaching for 19 years. She received her Bachelor's degree in Piano from the University of Utah. She loves music and teaching. She has received numberous music awards and recognitions as well as winning the "Future Music Teacher's" piano competition. Her students have won numerous awards in composition and top ratings at National Federation of Music Clubs.

My Musical Education Background
Shelly has received her Bachelor's degree in piano from the University of Utah. She has explored many piano learning methods. She is an advanced teacher of the Simply Music Piano Program acheiving incredible results. The method allow students to play sophisticated, great-sounding music from their very first lessons (Contemporary, Classical, Blues, Accompaniment pieces..) Students typically can play 8-10 pieces in their first few months of starting as a beginner.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Lessons last any where from 30-60 minutes and are very comprehensive. They include learning to play Contemporary, Classical, Blues, Jazz, Accompaniment pieces. Theory is incorporated into learning music. It is integrated into every thing we do and is not done as a separate, dry subject. Students also have an amazing ability to self generate with the method of teaching. They truely become musicians who can progress on their own and attain music as a life long companion. The ability to compose and improvise is a natural bi-product of how we learn the piano. Student can typically play 10 pieces of music within their first couple of months. After one year, students can play 30-50 pieces of music, at any time, any place, with no need for sheet music. Students also use the program "Piano Marvel" at home and in the studio to learn to read music fluently.

My Certifications and Awards
Shelly received a music scholarship to both the University of Utah as well as BYU.
She was awarded winner of the "Future Music Teachers Competition".
She has been certified and licensed to teach a very unique piano learning method known as "Simply Music" that offers a break-through in music education.
