About Me
Sandra Girouard, a seasoned musician, embarked on her musical journey at the age of five and has dedicated over thirty-five years to teaching music within her community. She brings a vast wealth of expertise to her private studio, offering individualized and group lessons in piano, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, recorder, music history, and music theory. Sandra's teaching experience spans from elementary and secondary schools to the university level, underscoring her versatility as an educator.
Holding a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College and a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of South Florida, Sandra is a member of the American Recorder Society and the National Association for Music Education. She is certified in Orff-Schulwerk and holds a Level III certification from the James Hill Ukulele Initiative.
Beyond teaching, Sandra actively participates in a local folk music ensemble, volunteers as a bedside musician for homebound individuals, and enjoys community jam sessions and strumalongs.
Her life journey has taken her through Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Florida, California, and Texas, before settling in Alabama with her husband, three sons, and two dogs. In her leisure time, Sandra indulges in container gardening, knitting, crocheting, and science fiction.
