About Me

          Shiqun Ou is currently studying Flute Performance (Master of Music) under Dr. Angeleita Floyd at the University of Northern Iowa. He has been a member of the University of Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Northern Iowa Flute Choir, Pennsylvania State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Campus Orchestra, and the Penn State Flute Choir.

         As an international musician, Shiqun has appeared as a performer in North America, Europe, as well as South America. At the age of 19, Shiqun made his New York City solo debut in Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Music Center. Shiqun is also an active member of the National Flute Association.  

         His primary teachers include Dr. Angeleita Floyd and Dr. Naomi Seidman. Aside from school, Shiqun also studied privately with Professor Eva Amsler. He has taken lessons and played masterclasses for Jill Felber, Bonita Boyd, Aaron Goldman, Christina Jennings, Maxim Rubtsov, Jim Walker, Paul Edmund-Davies, Robert Dick, Katherine Borst-Jones as well as William Benett.

        Shiqun plays a Handmade Miyazawa Elite with a 14k gold riser.
