About Me

My students reach their potential as truly artistic performers in both classical and modern music,

by learning the practice tricks of great pianists.

FREE weekly theory groups teach students how to compose their own music.

Group activities and awards lead to a lifelong love of music.

My Musical Education Background

My sixteen years of piano study include a BA in Music, Piano Performance, studying with a protégée of the famous Rudolf Ganz.

I was hired to perform in five recording studios and played professionally in many weddings, concerts, parties, and churches.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Composition, theory, duet-playing, the best performance techniques. and accompanying are my specialties.

One of my former students, Lance Horne, is now a famous composer of musicals.

Students learn how to perform with dazzling artistry, using the proven tricks of famous pianists.

Students as young as ten can learn to accompany their school choirs.

This year our theory groups will compose seven pieces using Music by Me books.

Lesson Rates

Forty-five (45) minute lessons are recommended, and tuition is $125 per month, September through May.

A minimum of six summer lessons are required.

Weekly theory groups, grouped by age, are FREE.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

My Certifications and Awards

I have been a member of MTNA since 1988.

Besides having one student who has become a famous composer, many other students have received "superior" ratings in the Arizona Study Program.

My college senior recital had an audience of 600, the highest attendance I had seen during my four years there.

I played pieces by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, and Ravel in that recital.

My Musical Influences

I was blessed to grow up in a musical home, where Bach, Broadway musicals, many duets and popular music were played, and many concerts were attended.

Listening to concertos, orchestra, Bach pipe organ Music as well as Oklahoma! And The Sound of Music, classical guitar, and ballet music were daily activities when I was young.  A Van Cliburn concert inspired me when in college.

I took classical and Spanish guitar from a famous performer for two years.
