About Me
Veteran piano teacher Becky VerPlanck opened Pianoforte in Chocorua Village, New Hampshire, in 2005. She teaches at her studio in Chocorua and at the North Conway Music Center. Current openings for North Conway on Wednesdays and Chocorua on Saturdays. Some morning and evening lessons are available Tuesday through Friday.
My Musical Education Background
Becky VerPlanck, NCTM has over 30 years of experience teaching piano to hundreds of students from preschoolers to senior citizens. From 1983-2004 she offered piano lessons from her Winthrop, Maine studio, teaching up to 40 students per week. Along with her piano studio, Becky ran a preschool music program for 10 years, teaching the Yamaha Music for Kids program at numerous preschools and daycare homes each week. She also held a popular Summer Music Camp for several years at her piano studio.
Becky holds a BA degree from the University of New Hampshire and has attended the renowned jazz music program at the University of Maine at Augusta. She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association. Becky is the organist at the Chocorua Community Church and fills her weeks with music, quilting, and teaching sewing too at Sew Creative! in Chocorua.
She is a member of the New Hampshire Music Teachers Association and Music Teaches National Association and the Seacoast Chapter of Music Teachers. Also, Becky is a founding member of the Kennebec Valley Piano Teachers Association in Maine.

Rates are and $25 for a 30 minute lesson. $30 for a 40 minute and $45 hourly

Becky is a fantastic piano teacher. My daughter had been taking lessons with another teacher which gave her the basics. Becky's style is structured and professional which has allowed my daughters skills to improve exponentially since she changed instructors to Becky. Becky makes the lessons fun and also makes clear her expectations of the student - assigning practice homework and games on the ipad to help improve skills too. I highly recommend this instructor!
