About Me
I love the arts and that about sums it up. Seriously though, my favorite enjoyment of music in life right now is to grab my violin and learn some of the most recent movie and video game pieces. My goal in having students is to pass on my knowledge and wisdom in the musical world, as well as teach the student how to self-learn. I begin with the basic books of Suzuki and String Essentials, but soon enough they began to gain arrangements of popular movie and video games soundtracks, as well as continue in their studies of proper technique and classical repertoire.
My Musical Education Background
Having taken violin lessons for 15 years, I was able to begin teaching violin in 2011 to 3 young violin students. I tutored and taught upwards of 5 students varying in age throughout college and after graduating in Spring 2016, I found myself in Crossville teaching 7 students in violin and viola. Most of my students take violin for the enjoyment of music, but I was able to see one student place 6th chair in the first violin section at the East State Orchestra Clinic in Chattanooga, TN.

My Certifications and Awards
In highschool, I obtained over twelve medals for Solo and Ensemble in Cookeville, TN for violin solo pieces as well as quartet, quintet, and trio works.
On a side note, I recieved three certificates from the Music Acedemy of Crossville, TN for taking voice lessons for three semesters and performing at each recital.
After highschool, I pursued a college degree in Instrumental Performance in Music (Violin specific) at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. I held the position of Principal second in Lee University's Chamber Strings for three years and their Symphony Orchestra for two years before graduating in 2016. Some of my specific classes inluded: Violin, Jazz Ensemble, Instrumental Pedagaogy, Music Theory and History, as well as Video Game Music History.
My Musical Influences
My first favorite influences include Celtic and Irish music. This includes folk, classical, pop, and other styles (I even have a book with around 300 Irish folk tunes). This genre or style influenced me so much as to perform the Scottish Fantasy by Max Bruch at my senoir recital in college.
My second favorite influence would probably be the ever so popular video game and music scores. I am always inspired by the new sounds and thematic way in which each composer or arranger approaches the music.
Some of my favorite artists, bands, or groups include: Lindsey Sterling, Tran Siberian Orchestra, Barrage and Celtic Woman.
Lastly, I will briefly mention many of the other influences I had
- Private Violin Lessons through Suzuki Books which then moved on to conertos and sonatas.
- These lessons also included technique books for shifting, vibrato, double-stops, scales, and fiddling.
- I grew up listening to the Classical and Jazz sessions through the radio on MPR with my family.
- 3 years of playing/partly leading a church's youth band.
- Performing recently in Sunday morning church services, a college play, a musical, and much more.
- A good 'ole CD collection of Contemporary, Pop, Country, Worship, Irish, Celtic, Instrumental... and the list goes on.
- This list could go on a very long time, but I hope you can get an idea of what my major influences are.
