About Me
Dr. Davidson is an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a PhD, MS, and MA. He also graduated from Tennessee State University with a MAS and undergraduate degree. Dr. Davidson plays trombone, tuba, baritone, and piano. He has played music for over 35 years. Dr. Davidson is a recreational baseball coach for his two children and is happily married. He enjoys mentoring and teaching.
My Musical Education Background
Dr. Mario Davidson is a trombonist for the Lynn Beal Big Band. He plays with the After 5 Tux Band featuring Freddie T. Holt. He also has played with the #1 Party Band and BB King All Stars. Dr. Davidson played with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church band for nine years and the Jazz Alliance for five years. He is a former Illinois All-State player and member of the renown East Saint Louis High School Jazz Band under the direction of Ronald Carter. The high school band had the pleasure of playing with Wynton Marsalis, Clark Terry, and Steve Turret to name a few musicians. Dr. Davidson teaches classical, jazz, Latin, popular music, and basic music theory.

Dr. Davidson charges $25 for half hour lessons and $50 for one hour lessons.

Dr. Davidson's musical influences are his former high school jazz band director, Ronald Carter, famed trombonist J.J. Johnson, Stevie Wonder, and Wynton Marsalis.
